If Can, Can! (Exciting news)
When we started Hawaiian Ola back in 2012, our mission was simple: to support Hawaiian farmers growing organic, GMO-free food, by cultivating a fair market for them to sell their goods and thrive sustainably doing what they love.
The “how” wasn’t so simple. From the very beginning, our vision included a plan to produce and package our products in Hawai`i, to maximize the economic and environmental benefit for our community. But, with no existing certified organic production facility in Hawai`i, our only option was to build one ourselves -- a project requiring a large amount of capital. Like many small businesses, our dreams out-scaled our budgets, at least at first. So for our first six years we worked with a certified organic partner in Arizona, who made and canned our sparkling noni and coffee leaf teas to our specifications, using Hawai`i-grown ingredients.
As we did so, our long-term plan remained the same: to build our own facility on Hawai`i Island, so that we could make and package our products ourselves. At long last, our dreams have become realized! In partnership with our sister company Ola Brew Co., all of our canned beverages are now crafted and canned in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i, at our own certified organic facility.
Our Sparkling Noni has a new look, too. We’ve switched to a classic shape can, which is manufactured on Oahu.
The new home for Hawaiian Ola and Ola Brew Co. also includes a taproom for locals and visitors alike. There, folks can sample all of our products, as well as seasonal and limited edition beverages available only at the facility. The tap room is open daily: Monday-Friday 11am-10pm; Saturday 11am-12am; Sunday 11am-9pm.
As we move into this exciting new phase of growth, we’re so appreciative of our partners who have supported us up to this point: our farmers, retail stores, community organizations, and consumers who have been our champions in this journey. Mahalo...and imua!
